BODY ORGANS: stomach, kidneys
SPINAL ADJUSTMENT: lower lumbar
VAGUE SYMPTOMS: aches and pains in various places, difficulty in bending and stretching
Generically, arthritis refers to inflammation of the bones. There are a number of forms: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid spondylitis, to name just a few, but rheumatoid arthritis is probably the most painful.
Arthritis is caused by an over-production of acid which is deposited in the joints in the form of crystals. Treatment aims to completely eliminate these crystals without causing damage to the body. I recommend a potato peel diet.
REMEDY
Boil 1kg of 12mm-thick potato peelings in 3½ litres of water. Mash them and eat nothing else for at least 7 days, drinking lots of hot water at the same time. This diet provides dramatic, sudden relief. Avoid aspirin-based tablets during this period. Follow this diet by eating only raw food for 28 days. The two diets should relieve the acute pain and result in the body functioning more effectively.
After the two diets (7 days and 28 days), continue to eat only non-protein food. If you require protein, eat only vegetable proteins such as lentils, legumes and soya beans. Avoid eating eggs, poultry and, most definitely, red meat. If your desire for protein proves irresistible eat sea fish, but avoid the scavengers such as prawns, shrimps and shellfish.
It is advisable to consult a medical practitioner before commencing this diet and allow him or her to supervise you during the 5 weeks of self-treatment.
In addition to the above diets, the discomfort of arthritis can be further minimized by taking hot baths containing 500g of Epsom salts, 500g of sea salt and 125g of bicarbonate of soda. Having the bath as hot as you can bear it for 20-30 minutes, adding hot water every 5 minutes, enables all the pores to open fully. Follow this bath with a cold shower to close the pores. Go directly to bed after drying the body. The sweating will help dispel excessive acid from the body.
While osteoarthritis is difficult to treat with juices, rheumatoid arthritis can certainly be helped during the early stages.
FRESH JUICE RECIPE
Make 500inl from equal amounts of the following juices:
carrot
celery
raw beetroot
cucumber (with skin)
Drink undiluted on an empty stomach and at the same time chew and eat 100g of ripe pineapple.
Prevention
The best way to prevent a chronic disease such as arthritis is to ensure that you eat balanced meals. An effective diet contains 80 per cent alkaline-forming and 20 per cent acid-forming foods. Remember the general rule - food that is acid/sour before eating becomes alkaline when digested. Most vegetables and fruits are alkaline-forming. Berries are acid-forming. Grains are acid-forming with the exception of millet. Fizzy drinks, coffee, black tea and beverages are all acid-forming. Water, fresh fruit and vegetables, juices and herb teas are alkaline-forming. This diet has a preventative effect; try it from time to time if you are prone to arthritis.

Diabetes

Natural Healing:
Hot and cold showers will help but longer on the cold than hot.
Juniper essential oil in bath water or added to a massage oil.
Stress and shock (past and present) are a huge factor in diabetes. Work on enjoyable exercise, relaxation and yoga / meditation.
More detailed advice must be given to every patient in order to address their particular details needs, be they overweight, underweight or have any other important and individual trait.
If the pancreas is swollen, then try hot castor oil packs.
Nutritional Advice:
Three to six large cloves of garlic per day would be a minimum requirement. It balances the amount of sugar in the blood by producing more insulin (check that your stomach can cope with this, the majority of people can cope).
Eating enough of the right things at the right time is important in the control of diabetes. At no time should the person ever go without food. Diabetes is all about maintaining correct carbohydrate metabolism. Food should be high in fibre and complex carbohydrates. Six small and easily digestible meals a day may be better than three large ones.
Do not drink tea, coffee, alcohol or fruit juices.
All sugars are to be totally avoided. Use instead rice syrup in minute quantities also barley malt, unrefined cane sugar. Very occasionally you can use very small amounts of raw unheated honey. Also avoid fructose, dextrose and molasses.
Nourishing 'earthy' foods that are rich in low burning carbohydrate will be invaluable; whole grains like millet, quinoa, oats and barley are all good whole grains. Avoid all processed grains. Try the sweeter vegetables like Jerusalem artichokes, pumpkins onion and parsnips. High glycemic index (GI) foods should not be consumed either at all or not very often like potatoes, yams and carrots. They affect the blood glucose levels badly, the faster a food is broken down during digestion, the quicker blood glucose levels will rise. Foods that cause a rapid rise in blood glucose will have a high GI. Low GI foods which are beneficial are peas, sweetcorn, beans, lentils, citric fruits, oats and rye. Blue green algae are also good at normalizing blood sugar levels. See also Glycaemic Index Foods.
Try Superfood for both plant ingredients which will really help to balance blood sugar levels.
Avoid white bread and preferably consume rye bread or oat cakes.
Oats are rich in many vitamins and minerals, they are generally very nourishing. They can slow the rate of sugar metabolism, thus aiding the work of the pancreas. Organic oats are best, they can be soaked overnight in spring water and cinnamon powder, and eaten for breakfast.
Seaweed's, especially hijiki normalize blood sugar levels. Cook them with whole grains and add to salads and soups.
Drink one cup of home-made barley water daily.
At least one or two apples per day are the best fruit for diabetics. wild fruits like blackberries, bilberries, quince and pomegranate with their naturally sharp and bitter flavours are also suitable. Do not drink fruit in their 'juiced' forms, the sugar content will be too high. Other suitable fruits would be; pears, grapefruit, grapes (in small quantities), and bananas. Bananas are known to lower blood sugar levels, but only use overripe (nearly black for levelled amounts of carbs and fruit sugar) ones and only have two or three a week as they are rich in sugars. Diabetics due to their high sugar content best avoid dried figs, dates, raisins and other dried fruits. If they are eaten they must be soaked for at least 12 hours.
Cut down or cut out meat, especially red meat. Use vegetable protein sources instead. Avoid milk and cheese. Fish, particularly oily fish can protect against heart problems. With this in mind choose 'low salt' foods to avoid high blood pressure and strokes. It is processed, manufactured foods that have the most salt in them. With homemade food you can control salt intake to a better degree.
To nourish and keep blood sugar levels steady consume Superfood and drinks containing nettles and alfalfa amongst others are invaluable giving almost instantaneous energy, and provide good nourishment between meals.
All vegetables raw and steamed are helpful, particularly those that are opposite to sweet in taste, i.e. sour and bitter like chicory, dandelion leaves, artichokes and olives.

ACNE

You can't always prevent acne, but there are ways to keep those unsightly blemishes at bay. Here's how.

1.Keep ur skin clean:Since acne is often caused by blocked pores, keeping your skin clean is one of the best ways to help prevent it.Wash ur face once or twice a day with soap and warm water.Gentle washing is all that's required-pores easily unclog with a soft touch.Avoid using too much pressure or washing with harsh, abrasive cleansera, which will make the problem worse by irritating the skin.

2.Take direct action:For mild acne,over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide can be very helpful. These topical products cause the skin to peel slightly, releasing trapped oils and bacteria and helping the inflammation heal.

3.Go easy on the makeup:Covering your skin with large amounts of makeup will clog pores, trap oils and make it easier for pimples to form.To keep pores open,it's best to use makeup sparingly. It's also a good idea to use water-based makeups that are easily removed with gentle washing.

4.Stay on top of stress:There's little scientific evidence that stress causes acne, yet most people notice that pimples do tend to flare up during stressful periods before a wedding, for example or when preparing for a job interview. You can't completely eliminate stress, but there are ways to keep it from leaving its mark on your skin.Getting regular exercise, meditating or simply getting out to a movie now and then will help keep your whole body, including your skin, much healthier.

5.Eat well:It's important to eat simple, healthy foods, like whole grain breads, fruits, vegetables and legumes.Foods that are high in fiber can help regulate hormone levels, which will help keep your complexion clear.

Index of ailments
BODY ORGANS: lungs, colon, kidneys
SPINAL ADJUSTMENT: thoracic 3-4-5-6 and 10-12
VAGUE SYMPTOM STAGE: itching
DISCOMFORT: constipation
DIS-EASE: pimples
DISEASE: pustules, boils
Acne usually starts out as a mild rash accompanied by discomfort followed by itching and the appearance of pustules. These are followed by white heads of pus. Squeezing these white heads precipitates spots, which are further worsened by various soaps and creams, often leaving the area infected.
The sebaceous glands in the skin are affected by hormonal disturbances, bad breathing habits and problems with the colon. The colon is the principal cause of skin infection as a result of incomplete elimination.
Once this manifests as acne, it is generally only the symptoms that are treated, not the cause. Treatment needs to be directed to the lungs, colon and kidneys.
The kidneys can disturb the hormonal balance when they malfunction, or the hormones themselves can behave erratically, perhaps as a result of fear. The lungs and colon can fail to function properly through the incomplete elimination of stale air from the lungs and the retention of waste products in the colon. The latter case is often the result of a modern 'junk food' diet.
If you focus on the proper functioning of these organs and maintain a 'clean' body, acne can be made to disappear. But remember, you are treating the whole person, not just the acne symptoms.
The skin
Despite the fact that the skin is the largest of our organs, we tend not to think of it as an organ at all. A key function of the skin is to maintain the temperature of the body. It is also connected directly to the brain. Any waste products which are not eliminated in sputum, urine or faeces are eliminated through the skin.
As an aside, if the skin were completely covered, with paint for instance, a person would live no longer than 3-4 hours. What is also not often realized is that some 90 per cent of the dust in most rooms is skin that has been shed.
Skin manifests a range of characteristics in response to various emotions:
blue: fear
goose pimples: happiness
red, goose pimples: joy
flushing, heat: anger
sweat, grey (in chronic cases): apprehension
green: gall bladder problems, excess bile
blue, goose pimples: cold
raised hair: anger and fear
The skin absorbs whatever we apply to it: cosmetics, shampoos, make-up, perfumes. Hydrocortisone is a steroid used to treat inflammatory dermatological conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. It is absorbed via the skin and enters the bloodstream, making its way into various body organs and causing imbalance and damage.
To keep the skin clear, clean out the system regularly with the following juice:
FRESH JUICE RECIPE
Mix together equal amounts of the following juices to make 375ml.
carrot
celery
cucumber
grape
raw potato (with skin)
Add 125ml of spring water, a pinch each of salt, black pepper, cumin powder and paprika. Sip slowly on an empty stomach 3 times a week.
